What Happened at Rhodes Ranch

The Problem

A customer in the Rhodes Ranch community called Rhinox after both key fobs on their 2011 Nissan Rogue stopped responding. The fobs wouldn't lock or unlock the doors, and the alarm wouldn't arm. The vehicle itself started fine with the ignition key, but the remote functions were completely dead.

They had already replaced the batteries in both fobs with no improvement. The issue was a lost sync between the fobs and the Rogue's Body Control Module (BCM). This happens when the battery is fully disconnected, after an ECU reset, or when a new fob is added without a proper programming procedure.

What We Did

Our tech arrived at Rhodes Ranch in under 25 minutes. After a quick diagnosis confirming the fobs were structurally intact, we connected our Autel OBD-II programmer to the diagnostic port under the dash. The programming process erased the old fob IDs stored in the BCM and re-enrolled both fobs from scratch.

Total time on-site: under 30 minutes. The customer was able to lock, unlock, arm, and trigger the panic alarm normally before we left. No towing required, no dealer trip, no waiting room.

Job Result

Both key fobs fully reprogrammed and tested. Lock, unlock, panic, and trunk buttons all confirmed working. Customer paid on-site. Job closed in under 30 minutes.
